Description:
The Faculty of letters of Lausanne invites applications for the followingposition in the English department:
100% Full Professor in English Linguistics (or Assistant ProfessorTenure Track)100% Professeur-e ordinaire en linguistique anglaise (ou Professeur-eassistant-e en pré-titularisation conditionnelle au rang de Professeur-eordinaire)
Profile:The appointee will be able to cover the field of English linguistics, witha specialisation preferably in sociolinguistics and/or historicallinguistics. He/She will have experience in advanced academic-level Englishteaching and an outstanding international publication record in Englishlinguistics (in the case of an Assistant Professor Tenure Trackappointment, an excellent publication record with strong indication of adeveloping international profile). Teaching in the English department is inEnglish, but the appointee will be expected to have a working knowledge ofFrench.
Required Qualification:PhD (or a corresponding title) in the field of English linguistics.
Job Description:The appointee will be expected to teach 6 hours per week (4 hours forAssistant Professor) at all levels within the Bachelor and Masterprogrammes. He/She will be expected to take part in postgraduate teachingand to supervise MA and doctoral dissertations. The appointee will beexpected to pursue his/her own research and publish at an internationallevel. He/She will be required to take on some of the administrative tasksof the department and of the Faculty.
